LDC has come up with a whole new vinyl!! It moves like silicone but paints with air dry paints or (my fav) GHSP! I have been drooling over silicone dolls for years, they have a level of realism that vinyl kits just can’t reach and that is movement. Yes, in reborn dolls made from kits, the head can turn side to side and the limbs can move at the body joints and be posed. But I’m talking about the softness to the vinyl that allows it to bend anywhere – fingers, mouth, all joints, everything. Check out this video (I don’t own any rights, I’m just sharing the link from the Doll Dreams website) to see what I mean. Look at that! I am just amazed at this advancement in reborn art. I truly believe that this is the start of an entire new age of reborning, that these sculpts will become the new norm and that within the year the kits that we are all using now will become much cheaper and not as popular (like the Berenguer and harder Secrist kits are now). I’m not sure how soft the torso will be, since it is vinyl (though it is so soft), but I’m going to find out because I have my order in for this sculpt! The pose-ability factor on this baby is wonderful and I can easily see it as a boy or girl, but I am envisioning a girl (something about the cheeks).
